Background Info:
The event we would like to hold at the Tally Ho Centre is called INSPIRE. The Inspire event will be the culmination of a five month community project of the same name. The INSPIRE project will provide 20 unemployed young people with the opportunity to undertake a series of practical training sessions in either fashion design, photography or graphic design as well as a series of cultural workshops. In addition, the participants will also attend entrepreneurship workshops to explore how they can turn their skills into potentially lucrative enterprises. They will use their newly acquired skills to produce culturally inspired garments, information booklets and photographs based upon Chinese, Nigerian, Pakistani and Nigerian culture. Our aim is for the project to encourage the youths to pursue further education, vocational training or set up their own enterprises. Aspire4u also aim to increase community cohesion and tolerance and encourage more members of the community to take part in cultural events and projects.
