Event Description

THE CONCEPT:

Two years ago, Irish and Chin's infamous U.S. World Clash and Reggae Girls and A.R.M Promotions iconic UK Cup Clash events were discontinued. Since then, clash fans worldwide have been debating which of the two events has the greatest influence on the global arena. Although both events featured the same contenders at times, the impact of their performances on each event differed greatly. With this being said, a U.S. World Clash star may not have necessarily been a UK Cup Clash star -- vice versa. To settle this ongoing two-year argument, the promoters of each event have decided to compete in a one night only clash that will not be subject to a tie or rematch. This epic sound clash will help determine which event had the greatest strength. This competition will be carried out by each promoter constructing a team that best reflects their event's magnitude. Each team will have four members with only three being announced in advance (the fourth is a wild card). This mystery player does not necessarily have to be a member of the sound fraternity. Rather, they can be a celebrity of any form, who will have the potential to make or break a team. The rule is -- the wild card can not be revealed to anyone until the event. Because both promoters are so competitive, have a great position in the sound system industry and are selectors themselves, it won't be surprising if there is a segment where the team leaders face off at the event. Sound clash fans will surely be entertained! This marks the first time that two events will clash each other.

ORGANISERS:

Irish and Chin: U.S. World Clash

For more than a decade, Irish and Chin have brought sound clash culture and dancehall entertainment to unprecedented heights. This New York and Jamaica-based promotions company has had many successful events, but it's their U.S. World Clash that globally cemented itself as the premiere sound clash of the new millennium. With a groundbreaking start in 1998 and infinite milestones in tow, U.S. World Clash turned unknown sound systems into industry stars and helped strengthen the presence of leading sound systems. With much fanfare, for Irish and Chin, U.S. World Clash gave birth to a globally recognized brand, spawning World Clash stagings in Jamaica, Canada and Antigua to name a few locales. And even more to Irish and Chin's credit, the World Clash structure, format and style has served as the foundation of today's most reputable sound clashes. Although U.S. World Clash made a graceful bow in 2007, its impact can never be underestimated. The World Clash stage has served as home of many historical sound clash moments -- too many to name. Infinite numbers of fans, sounds, celebrities and media religiously turned out for the epic U.S. World Clash and its proteges. Reggae Girls & A.R.M Promotions: UK Cup Clash Reggae Girls and A.R.M Promotions has unleashed loads of sound clash and dancehall entertainment on the European massive over the years. Indisputably, their stellar UK Cup Clash thrived as Europe's premiere sound clash for more than five years. Chock-full of hard-hitting entertainment and sold-out stagings, UK Cup Clash was never an event to be missed by true sound clash fans. Through UK Cup Clash, Reggae Girls and ARM Promotions single-handedly redefined Europe's sound clash movement. UK Cup Clash brought much needed attention to a sport that was fading in Europe. Not only did UK Cup Clash attract scores of sound clash fans, artists and other celebrities annually, the flagship event also shined with a heavy media presence. UK Cup's rich history includes many unforgettable performances by sounds and guest artists alike. Although UK Cup Clash formally ended in 2008, its’ legacy will live on forever.
