After making a plea, and an offer of $100,000, for the safe return of her nephew Julian yesterday, Jennifer Hudson and her sister Julia (mother of the child) have been told by the FBI that a body found in the back of an SUV appears to be that of the missing seven year old. Julian has not been seen since the murder of his uncle and grandmother last Friday.

Tragedy has struck the family of academy award-winner actress, and R&B starlet, Jennifer Hudson. Both her mother and brother were found shot dead at their Chicago home yesterday afternoon (Friday, 24th October 2008) some seven hours after neighbours first reported hearing gunfire. Jennifer has often cited her mother as the one that encouraged her to enter the X-Factor competition, which she subsequently won and helped her to build a successful career in both music and film.

The body of Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson was found on the living room floor, just before 3pm, by a family member. The body of her brother, Jason Hudson aged 29, was later found in an upstairs bedroom.

Police say that one of the body of one of the victims has defensive wounds yet there was no sign of a forced entry. In a statement, police revealed that Donerson died of a gunshot would to the head, whilst son Jason died of a shot to the chest. They later said that the double homicide appeared to be the result of a domestic disturbance but refused to elaborate further.

The law enforcement authorities issued an amber alert for Julian King, the seven year old grandson of Donerson, and nephew to Hudson. Police now hold a man in custody in connection with the double killing after earlier releasing a police bulletin stating that a man name William Balfour was wanted in connection with the crime describing him as armed-and-dangerous. It is understood that the mother of the child, and sister to Jennifer, Julia Hudson fathered the child to the suspect and that both of their MySpace pages that that they are married to one another. The seven year old child has yet to be be found.

Juelz Santana is working towards performing in the UK next year...

Initially it was rumoured that the tour had been cancelled because Juelz Santana was robbed of jewellery (see the Mad News blog) in his hotel room and because of the incident the tour had been cancelled.

However Juelz later released a press statement clearing up why the two UK shows were cancelled. The full statement is available on Miss Info’s blog It seems that the police action stems from an altercation that happened in the London hotel where the Harlem rapper was staying with his entourage. Word on the street has it that the hotel was rushed by promoters who had lost out on a combined total of up to £70,000 through paying money to a former affiliate of Juelz Santana who was fraudulently taking money for performance bookings without his knowledge, and that were never going to happen. The resulting chaos ended in the police cancelling both legs of the UK tour.

For all the Dipset fans out there that were looking forward to the event and are disappointed by the cancellations, watch this space for news of the a new UK date sometime next year as Urban Promotions are working hard on setting a new UK date next year.

For those unfamiliar with the story, Sean Bell was shot dead by New York police officers whilst leaving a Queens strip-club whilst on his stag night in 2006. The 23 year old Bell was due to be married to his fiancée, and mother of one child, the next day. The officers said that they shot in self-defence as they suspected that the man (Bell) was armed. However after firing 50 shots on the group of men (Bell and 2 friends were shot) it was discovered by the officers that their suspicions of the group of men being armed and dangerous were unfounded.

Despite initial uproar at the event some rappers think that the people, and other high profile celebrities are not making the voice of the black community heard…

David Banner spoke to HipHopDX in a phone interview and seems to think that black people are more interested in fighting amongst each other than fighting the real enemy and then went on to speak out against what he sees as political injustice in America today. Banner goes on to give his thoughts on George Bush and Barack Obama..

When West Coast rapper The Game spoke to SOHH.com giving his thoughts on the Sean Bell verdict situation The Game exclaims that he ‘doesn’t understand why New York is so quiet’, referring to both rappers and people from the black community failing to speak out over the controversial outcome. He goes on to state that if the event had happened in L.A. ‘you could see smoke form the hills‘ maybe compare the contrasting reaction of this event and the Rodney King police brutality case of the early 90’s where California say riots that lasted days. The West Coast hip-hop heavyweight has recently released a track titled ‘911 Is a Joke’, free for download, on his ThisIzGame.com website where he speaks on the situation.
